你現在要重新安裝的硬碟一定先前曾在其它的主機板上安裝過作業系統必且與你現在的主機板不同型號(而且先前安裝的作業系統必定是Windows2000/XP/2003/VISTA 的其中之一種)
還有你在安裝的時候或許未立即用光碟開機的方式來安裝,所以導致PC載入了OS所致,因微軟的NT架構(WINDOWS2000 是包含了FAT32+NTFS) 開機會偵測是否為先前安裝的主機板Chip型號(微軟的防盜版軟體功能)如果不是就會造成這個現象

ICH 10 的晶片.用XP SP1或XP無法安裝完全.是因為主機板BIOS沒有用時間太久的XP 或是XP SP1寫入.所以會安裝失敗.用XP SP2應該可以安裝完成.
