Epson 1260 itself is ok,but application software is not good.Mind the size of your system buffer,otherwise it will destroy your WIN system since the software is down when you scan for 600dpi or higher.It did not work whatever you remove it and uninstall all the connected application s/w bundled with Epson,I tried many times just to fail to install it again,you've to erase your WIN registers then you can re-install it to be ok,but I don't think there are many computer expert to know that to fix it.Most of customer might have to reinstall whole win system then to reinsall the 1260 and avoid high resolution scan.
I won't suggest this scanner despite you are familiar at computer skill.
Scanner is not bad,but software is no good
